Biking the border, eh?!

Looking for a biking getaway? The Niagara River Recreation Trail in Ontario, Canada is fantastic! It's easy to access from the U.S. side of Niagara Falls via the Rainbow Bridge. Pack your passport and head north, this trail is not to be missed!  Last year my husband, Justin and I rode the entire loop around the Niagara Peninsula, over the course of two days. This year we were short on time so we rode counterclockwise to Niagara on the Lake.  It is 17 (paved!) miles one way and there are plenty of fruit stands, wineries and a mini chapel to keep you entertained along the trail, not to mention breathtaking views of the Niagara River!  Once in Niagara on the Lake, there are countless boutique shops and European style cafes and bistros.  And in true European fashion, we couldn't leave without enjoying a generous scoop of gelato while relaxing on the bank of Lake Ontario.
